We Moved—but Beaufort Will Always Be Home

After a lot of planning, packing, paperwork, and more than a little stress, we officially moved. We recently said goodbye to our home in Port Royal, South Carolina, and started a new chapter in Guyton, Georgia. We did not move terribly far, but it is far enough to feel like a fresh start while still keeping us close to the people and places that have shaped our lives. Moving is never simple, especially when it involves selling one house, buying another, coordinating repairs, and trying to make everything line up at the same time, but in the end, everything came together.

Leaving Port Royal and Beaufort County was deeply bittersweet because this was not simply a place we lived for a few years. We have been in Beaufort County since we were babies. We grew up there, went to school there, built lifelong friendships there, and made memories that will always be part of who we are. No matter where life takes us, Beaufort County will always be home. Moving away does not mean we have forgotten the people who welcomed us, supported us, and shared life with us. We fully intend to visit Port Royal and Beaufort from time to time, so this is not goodbye.

Our new home gives us more room to settle in, work on projects, enjoy our hobbies, and build a life in a new community. We are still figuring out where everything belongs and learning our way around, but it is already beginning to feel like home. This move represents more than a new address; it is a fresh start and another opportunity to see where God leads us next. To our friends and family in Port Royal and Beaufort, you remain an important part of our lives, and we hope you will come visit us too. Our door is open, visitors are always welcome, and the friendships, memories, and love we have for home are coming with us.
