Hey outdoor enthusiasts! If you’re searching for the perfect spot to immerse yourself in nature while setting up your radio equipment, look no further than US-2715 Fort McAllister State Park! Nestled at 3894 Fort McAllister Rd, Richmond Hill, GA, this hidden gem offers stunning covered pavilions that make it an ideal location for all your adventure needs.

On my recent visit, I couldn’t resist the allure of the great outdoors. Armed with my new camp table and chair, I set out to make the most of the beautiful weather. Let me tell you – they were a fantastic addition to my setup! With temperatures hovering around a delightful 60°F, I enjoyed a scenic day, watching as the last remnants of Winter Storm Enzo melted away.

During this activation, I had an exciting experience making eleven contacts. The highlight was reaching out to N8LH in West Virginia, which was the farthest contact I achieved. Closer to home, I also connected with a AA9M in Jacksonville, Florida, all thanks to my trusty Xeigu G90!

There’s something magical about being outdoors, especially after a long winter. As the sun shone down and nature came alive, I felt more connected to the world around me. Whether you’re a seasoned ham radio operator or just looking to enjoy a day of relaxation, Fort McAllister State Park is a must-visit.

So grab your gear and head out to this wonderful park! Who knows, you might just find yourself inspired by the beauty of nature to connect and activate in ways you never expected! Happy adventuring!
