This is a simple AAR of my experience with the 75 HARD program. Be sure to check out this post from day 39. I started 2024 by working through the 75 HARD program for the second time. It allows me to start the year focused mentally and physically. I strongly encourage anyone looking to build discipline and motivation in their life physically and mentally to check out the 75 HARD program at least once. Find a tribe and do the work.
What went well?
I completed 150 45-minute workouts, read 750 pages, consumed 75 gallons of water, and lost 25 pounds in 75 days while remaining sober. I increased my VO2 max from 29 to 33.3. While completing 75 Hard I read “The Book on Mental Toughness” By Andy Frisella and “The Complete 101 Collection” By John Maxwell.
Why did it go well?
I was focused on the daily routine of deliverables with zero tolerance for not completing a task. In a word, I was focused on discipline. I consumed a healthy diet with 0 sugar and 0 alcohol. I took daily vitamins, consumed a gallon of water, and moved daily.
What didn’t go well?
I ran on about four hours of sleep for much of the time I was on 75 hard, so sleep did not go well during the program.
Why?
I had a big project come my way at work about two weeks after I had committed to 75 hard. This project required me to do my normal day shift and a couple of hours overnight every day.
What can I do better in the next phase?
Try to prioritize sleep while still accomplishing the 75 hard tactics.
How?
Get the tactic done earlier in the day.
