A few posts back, I shared a modification I made to my CHA EMCOMM II antenna. Unfortunately, the quality of that mod didn’t hold up. In fact the connectors failed during my POTA activation at US-3837 “Colonial Dorchester State Historic Site”. This caused me to have to come up with a quick fix in the field, wasting valuable activation time.

I ended up completing only 25 QSOs at the activation. Unhappy with this result, I decided to modify my mod. I soldered and shrink-wrapped the connectors to the antenna wire. I am eager to take the Xeigu G90 back into the field. I will use the CHA EMCOMM II antenna next week. I want to give this mod 2.0 a try.
